Stadium & Prospective Sites
Modelled on the Halifax Wanderers, Mississauga City FC will build a professional-grade temporary stadium on leased land — keeping capital requirements low while delivering a world-class matchday experience. Five prospective sites have been identified in central Mississauga, spanning both public land (City of Mississauga parks and institutional holdings) and private land.
The Stadium Approach
The Halifax Wanderers FC built a 10,000-seat temporary stadium on leased municipal land and became one of the CPL's most successful franchises. Mississauga City FC will replicate and build upon this model in one of Canada's largest urban markets.
10,000 seats with a modular design that can expand as the fanbase grows.
No land purchase required — lease agreements with municipal or institutional landholders keep capital lean.
Temporary stadium construction timelines are significantly shorter than permanent builds, enabling rapid kick-off.
Prospective Locations
All five prospective sites are centrally located in Mississauga with excellent transit access and sufficient land area for a 10,000-seat facility. Sites span both public land — City of Mississauga parks and institutional holdings — and private land, offering flexibility in the partnership model.
Landholder: Peel Catholic District School Board
Institutional landholding with existing athletic infrastructure. A partnership with the Peel Catholic District School Board would create community benefits alongside the professional sports facility.
Landholder: City of Mississauga — Public Park
Existing municipal park with open land area suitable for stadium development. City-owned land creates a direct municipal partnership opportunity and strong community alignment.
Landholder: City of Mississauga — Public Park
Strategically positioned near Mississauga's civic centre and transit hub. Proximity to Square One Shopping Centre and the Confederation GO/BRT corridor offers exceptional accessibility.
Landholder: City of Mississauga — Public Park
Open green space in central Mississauga, well-suited to a temporary stadium installation. Located within walking distance of multiple residential communities and transit routes.
Landholder: Private — Commercial Property
The Square One area represents the premier private-land opportunity in central Mississauga. Located at the heart of the city's urban core and directly adjacent to the Hurontario LRT corridor, this site offers unmatched visibility, transit connectivity, and commercial synergy. A ground lease arrangement with the private landowner would position MCFC at the centre of Mississauga's fastest-growing urban district.
For Landholders
Mississauga City FC is open to exploring leasehold arrangements with any institutional, municipal, or private landholder whose site meets our development criteria. A land partnership with MCFC offers long-term lease income, community engagement, and significant public profile for your property.
